Welcome to the all-new community where educators can directly connect with MakerBot. If you are a passionate educator using MakerBot to make an impact in your classroom, we would love for you to join! Available in the United States for now, this program is a great way to share your unique experiences with us and help shape the future of MakerBot’s solutions for educators and students everywhere.
The MakerBot Educators program, in a nutshell, is a community of amazing teachers using 3D printing in creative and inspiring ways. By integrating exciting, innovative technologies, like 3D printing in the classroom, they have demonstrated a commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for education. As a result, the are also a driving force behind MakerBot’s education initiatives. We turn to this community for input on new products (like Thingiverse Education), help with writing educational content (like The MakerBot Educators Guidebook), or to discover amazing projects and work being done in the classroom.
In order to become a MakerBot Educator, you must meet these preliminary prerequisites:
1. You are an educator located in the United States
2. You have two projects published and approved on Thingiverse Education
3. You have a registered MakerBot device
We are passionate about education, and we think the more access students have to 3D printing, the better. We believe 3D printing can empower educators to better teach students the kinds of STEAM and real-world problem solving skills that will be necessary for tomorrow’s jobs. We also know that many teachers have access to 3D printers, but are still seeking ideas on how best to use them in their classrooms.
While we do innovate behind the scenes, we have found that brainstorming and sharing ideas with this community is what will help us best address the wider needs of teachers and students. That’s where our MakerBot Educators come in!
Basically, we are looking for people who are passionate about teaching others about 3D printing. If that is you, please apply!
If you are not sure, reach out to us as education@makerbot.com and we will let you know if you would be a good fit.
No way! Enrollment is free, though there are some requirements for new teachers who want to join. See above.
Enrollment is valid until the end of the calendar year, December 31st, at which point you can decide if you would like to continue your enrollment for the following year.
No problem. Participation is completely optional, and you can remove yourself at any time by sending an e-mail to education@makerbot.com.
