Hardi Meybaum founded his first company, Futeq, to help manufacturers get products to market faster, and quickly realized there was a huge repository of knowledge on the open web that could help accelerate the design process. This proliferation of expertise inspired him to found his second company, GrabCAD, now the largest community of mechanical engineers and designers in the world. Come meet the GrabCAD CEO at the New York MakerBot Retail Store on May 15th, and the Boston MakerBot Retail Store on June 11th. Both events begin at 7:30pm. Meybaum will read from his new book, “The Art of Product Design,” and sign copies. The book focuses on product design success stories from companies big and small, from GE to MakerBot favorite Rest Devices. Meybaum explores how these firms use emerging online communities, new technologies, and novel engineering solutions to innovate faster and better than ever. Don’t miss out on the chance to hear from a true hero of the open engineering movement. Register for the NYC event. Register for the Boston event.
