We’ve streamlined the filament unloading process in firmware 1.2. The revamped process will work in tandem with updates in MakerBot Desktop 3.2.1 to help prevent filament jamming in your MakerBot Replicator Smart Extruder.
In addition, we’ve added more accurate z-homing for the MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer, and more specific error messages for the Smart Extruder.
Upgrade Your Firmware With MakerBot Desktop
Forget how to update your firmware using MakerBot Desktop? Here’s a quick refresher:
Use a USB cable to connect your MakerBot device to your computer. Once you have MakerBot Desktop open, check to see if there’s a new version of firmware available. In the menu bar, go to the “Devices” drop-down menu and select “Update Firmware.”
MakerBot Desktop will detect which version of firmware your MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer is running.
If you’re not using the current firmware version, download the latest (this might take a few minutes). Once your update is complete, you’re ready to start printing!
