Harry Slotwiner is a 16 year old high school student at Pelham Memorial High School in New York. He was also one of the youngest and brightest participants at our first annual MakerBot Hackathon. Accessing the Thingiverse API, Harry created I Made One, a cool and useful iOS application which allows users to upload photos of 3D objects to Thingiverse directly from their phone. Making, remixing and customizing designs is at the heart of the Thingiverse community. Publishing an “I Made One” with a picture of a successful print gives props to the original designer and also empowers users to experiment. The I Made One app provides a quick and easy process to capture 3D creations hot off the build plate. The I Made One app is currently available for free on iTunes. More of Harry’s programming projects can be seen on his website Harryworks.com. Harry’s current projects include building a life-sized Tardis, building a Quadrocopter, and being able to control his room from an iPhone via Arduinos. In collaboration with a friend, Harry is also working on a prototype of his own version of Google Glasses which uses a completely 3D printed enclosure. This kid is pretty cool.
