We received more than 60 incredible entries in the weeklong #GnomeRemix Flash Challenge. To everyone who took the time to add their own unique spin to the scanned MakerBot Gnome and enter the challenge – thank you! Deciding on the most creative, yet perfectly printable gnome was a challenge in itself. We printed so many gnomes to ensure their viability, we practically have gnomes perched on every monitor and skipping down the halls of MakerBot HQ. In the end, the Gnome Chess Set stood out amongst its peers and best exemplified our challenge criteria. We love that the original scan was remixed into so many different characters and can’t wait to display it at the MakerBot Booth at World Maker Faire this weekend. We found the pawn hat pom poms especially endearing. In addition to a place of honor for the chess set, we’re sending the winning designer, KingRahl, a spool of one of our newest products, Translucent Red MakerBot PLA filament. Gnomes look especially dashing in red. Come visit us this weekend at Booth #PV1 in Zone B.
