There is a lot of buzz for the 2013 Seattle International Film Festival’s ad, featuring MakerBot-made miniature versions of iconic films like Alien, The Exorcist, and our personal favorite, Fight Club. The spot is a collaboration between Seattle-based ad agency WDCW and production company World Famous Inc., and was shot in just two days, after an extensive pre-production period. World Famous Inc. creative director Christopher Harrell said of the experience, “The project wouldn’t have been completed without the MakerBot. It allowed us to print things that we never could have modeled by hand. It was a challenging experience learning to work in a totally new medium, but it was also really rewarding. There is something really magical about holding something in your hand that you modeled on a computer.” Thanks Christopher, as the first rule of MakerBot is that you talk about MakerBot.
