The MakerBot Innovation Center Helps a Young Entrepreneur
| by MakerBot
With the help of the MakerBot Innovation Center at SUNY New Paltz, Danielle Aylmer could develop her product design into a full blown entrepreneurial enterprise. While still in high school, Aylmer designed, “Syngies,” a toy car that sits on top of a syringe, concealing the needle so children will relax more when getting a shot. From the start, her product concept picked up steam after she received local recognition for its design. With a gleaming vision of success in mind, Aylmer was determined to bring her product to life.
For the advancement of her design, Aylmer would need optimal hardware and design feedback. She also needed an option that was smart, convenient, and budget-friendly. The MakerBot Innovation Center within the Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz quickly became the perfect incubator for her design.
The MakerBot Innovation Center at SUNY New Paltz consists of 30 MakerBot 3D printers and MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanners. The large cluster of printers are perfect for rapid prototyping and the development of professional quality, high resolution models. The campus setting also comes with the help of students and interns who can offer their input and assist with design expertise. This connected MakerBot experience was everything Aylmer needed to get Syngies off the ground.
