Awesome Authors To Speak At MakerBot

On Thursday, September 6, right here between the white brick walls of the MakerBot Headquarters, the notable authors Cory Doctorow and Charlie Stross will be talking about their latest book and signing copies for visitors.

The book is called “The Rapture of the Nerds,” and it will contain the two previous Doctorow/Stross-authored novellas, “Jury Service” and “Appeals Court”. A third novella from will be added to the sequence, and the authors have made some changes to make them flow nicely together as a single book, published by Tor Books. From the press materials:

Suffice to say you can expect post-singularity craziness, particularly as regards patents. Also, according to Doctorow, “Jury Service” was written exquisite corpse style, with the authors trading 500-1000 word chunks back and forth, adding more with each exchange.

We cannot wait to have these guys in our space. If you can join us, please do! The event is open to the public.

When: Thursday, September 6; 7 PM

Where: MakerBot Headquarters, 314 Dean Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217
