Montclair School District

“This is what we mean when we talk about 21st century careers... Our students are graduating with real ideas of how they can use 3D printing moving forward.”

Dr. Joseph Putrino, Principal Glenfield Middle School

“We want kids to be regular producers. We want them to be ingenious. We want them to be creative. We want them to be problem solvers.”

Montclair 1

MakerBot and Montclair partnered to establish the first district-wide network of desktop 3D printers, in each school, from the elementary level all the way up to Montclair State University.

Montclair’s students have the unique opportunity to experience 3D printing and 3D design from elementary school all the way through high school. This is a brand new paradigm in STEM learning that would not be possible without the wide range of benefits that MakerBot content, community, support, and administrative solutions provide.

Kings Mountain Middle School

"3D printing is a really great technology that can really grow in complexity. It can be something that the more you learn about it, the more you can do with it. It can be simple, it can be intricate. It can be anything. We really want students to be able to test their creativity and show what they can do."

Beverly Owens 8th Grade Science Teacher

Having students ask questions, having them dream and imagine things that they can develop and prototype and improve upon - it's important that students have the understanding that when they fail it's nothing personal - it's about the materials, it's about the process, it's about prototyping.

Students are now able to test their ideas and prototypes out at a much faster rate.

"Empowering. That term perfectly describes the MakerBot Sketch Classroom program. Whether you are new to 3D printing, a veteran MakerBot guru, or someone who just wants to enhance their printing skills, the SKETCH Classroom was designed for you."

Basha Elementary School

"I see the tangible project-based outcomes of student learning so vividly after our school purchased MakerBot. The integration of ideas are endless, powerful and FUN!"

Jessica Pfau Technology Integration Specialist

The curriculum focus has been to build a strong foundation of understanding and lots of enthusiastic engagement by facilitating open-ended discussion and keeping students involved in all parts of the 3D printing process; from loading filament to seeing the end-result in action!

Basha 2

"Students who have an idea, and bring it to life in 3D, are all smiles. “You are an innovator!” I say with every design. They beam and they dream of their next idea and then beg me to print again."

The number of skills my students acquired while using MakerBots 3D printers in a short amount of time has been astonishing and it inspired my own professional development as I learned alongside them. My students cannot get enough of 3D printing ー and yours won’t be able to either.
