Introducing MakerWare, the ideal software to drive your MakerBot—and not just because it's pretty and simple to use. We are always improving our slicing engine, the algorithm that tells your MakerBot what to make and how to make it, so you get stronger, faster, more consistent results. Use MakerWare to:
- Open multiple .stl and .obj files at once and arrange them on the build platform.
- Scale, move, and rotate individual models or groups of models at once.
- Set up two-color prints for your MakerBot Replicator or Replicator 2X with new easy dual extrusion integration.
MakerWare is not a design program. You can still do your 3D modeling in whatever program you choose. We are releasing MakerWare in Beta, so download it today, get your feet wet, and let us know what you think!
In order to send your awesome 3D model to the MakerBot, our software needs to turn it into slices first. Our newest slicing engine, MakerBot Slicer, is up to 20 times faster at generating these instructions, called g-code. And those instructions are better than ever, too. With fewer retractions (stops and starts), the prints are faster and more consistent.
MakerWare™ lets you drop as many models as you want into the virtual build space, and its simple yet powerful interface lets you move, rotate, and scale your models easily. When is comes time to choose your print settings, we've refined the process while still leaving the control in your hands.
To help encourage innovation and invention, MakerBot is launching a developer program. If you need (or want) to learn more about how our software works, want to create plug-ins for our tools, or just want suggest that awesome next feature, sign up for updates on our developer program.
