How many people can attend a MakerBot Learning class?
The maximum capacity of our open enrollment Primer on 3D printing with MakerBot classes is 18 attendees and of our private workshops can accommodate up to 9. Larger numbers can be accommodated by request.
Where are MakerBot Learning courses held?
Our Primer on 3D Printing with MakerBot course is held at our headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. Starter Lab and Innovation Center workshops can be held at your location or our headquarters.
How much experience do I need for a MakerBot Learning course?
We do our best to accommodate any level of expertise: from beginners with brand new MakerBot 3D printers looking to get started to experienced 3D printing experts looking to fine-tune their skills and learn about new features.
Do I need to own a MakerBot Desktop 3D Printer to take a MakerBot Learning course?
You don't need a 3D printer if you are taking a course or workshop at MakerBot headquarters: we've got plenty. However, you will need to bring your personal laptop computer.
Who teaches MakerBot Learning courses?
All MakerBot Learning instructors are knowledgeable 3D printing experts. However, please note that our instructors are not maintenance specialists and cannot offer you technical support.
What equipment is needed to hold a private, on-site MakerBot Learning workshop?
MakerBot Learning can conduct our courses just about anywhere as long as there is Wi-Fi and electricity. Each attendee should have access to a computer and, whenever possible, we ask that our instructors have access to a digital projector.
What languages are the MakerBot Learning courses offered in?
Currently, we only offer courses in English.
Are there accommodations close to the MakerBot headquarters location?
Yes, there are many hotel and lodging options. Additionally, our central Brooklyn location is in close proximity to numerous subway (it's at the Jay Street/Metrotech subway station) and bus lines so you can easily get to MakerBot headquarters from nearly anywhere in New York City.
What design software is covered in the MakerBot Learning courses?
MakerBot Learning can train you to apply and use a wide range of design software (including free programs, such as Autodesk 123D, MeshMixer, Tinkercad, etc.) with your MakerBot products. Other software can be covered by request.
What MakerBot products are covered in the Primer on 3D Printing with MakerBot course?
The Primer on 3D Printing with MakerBot covers operating and designing for the MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer, the MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer, and the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner. Training on the larger MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer can also be arranged by request.
What happens in the MakerBot Learning courses?
Each MakerBot Learning course is a hands-on, interactive session where attendees actually design using software on their computers and use 3D printers to create objects that they get to keep.

Our programs cover a wide range of topics and are designed to be practical for beginners all the way up to experts.
