1. Basic Community Guidelines –
a. Moderator: A MakerBot Community Manager moderates The MakerBot Operators and Thingiverse groups daily.
b. Prescreening: First-time members are automatically placed on moderation and their posts are pre-screened. After the initial moderation period ends, members are free to post without any moderation. MakerBot does not prescreen postings submitted by the confirmed members of this Group, but MakerBot retains the right, not responsibility, to remove any posting that violates any of the Terms.
c. Google Terms of Service: In addition to the Terms, all use of the Group is governed by Google’s Terms of Service (http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/terms/).
d. Minors: You must be at least 13 years old to post in the Group.
2. MakerBot’s Commitment to this Community –
a. First Time Users: As the owner of these groups, MakerBot’s strong preference is for open conversation. Members posting to the Group for the first time must have their post approved in order to ensure relevancy.
b. MakerBot’s Undertaking: We pledge to give first time user approval in a timely manner. After that first approval, Members can continue to post un-moderated, provided they post with adherence to the Terms.
c. Moderation: If the Community Manager learns or perceives that a Community Member has disregarded one or more of these terms, the Community Manager has the right to put that Member on moderation. Moderation means that a user’s posts will be reviewed before they are published to the entire Group.
d. Reinstatement: If a user is put on moderation, the user may receive reinstatement of full posting rights if the Community Manager determines that the user made a good faith effort to abide by the Terms during the time of moderation.
e. Conduct: As a company we pledge to act in a professional and responsible manner with our Community Members.
f. Privacy: We promise to respect every Member’s privacy and we promise not to share personal information with other Community Members.
g. Updates: We pledge to update Community Members on the status of our products, developments and ideas that have to do with this Community and the topics discussed as often and thoroughly as possible. You can also follow more of MakerBot’s news on our blog at www.makerbot.com/blog. Unless otherwise approved by a MakerBot Community Manager, please do not submit postings speculating about unannounced MakerBot products or policies.
3. Posting Guidelines –
a. Be Respectful and Appreciative of Other Community Members: We are a community of many different people with varying opinions and perspectives. All Members should feel comfortable expressing a point of view. Please remain courteous and show respect for other Community Members. If someone helps you with useful information, please take the time to thank them.
b. Keep it Clean: Refrain from using disrespectful language towards other Community Members. We will moderate profane language and abusive behavior, so please keep your tone and content civil and collaborative.
c. Be Honest: Please do not claim credentials or expertise that you do not have, create multiple logins, or post under a false identity or the identity of another community member. You can remain anonymous, but false representations by Community Members are not welcome here.
d. Be Careful: Use caution when providing any private information, as this is a public forum. Avoid revealing any personal information.
e. No Solicitation: If you are discussing products or modifications relevant to your MakerBot ecosystem, feel free to post in our Group. Please refrain from using the Group as a means of advertising products unrelated to MakerBot. Advertising includes posting a URL or link to non-MakerBot products.
f. Keep it Relevant: Please search for an answer before posting, and stay on topic within individual threads. If you have a new question or idea to discuss, please start a new thread for it.
g. Illegal Submissions: Any posting that is promoted to commit an illegal act is not permitted. This includes any postings which are libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, intimidating, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context. In addition, software or algorithm descriptions that violate any other agreements are not permitted.
