Reminder: no shipping until January 3rd, 2012

Quick note for anyone placing small orders: while our store is still accepting orders, we have been forced to take a brief holiday from our usual lightning-fast shipping in order to do a year-end physical inventory.  Please anticipate a few extra days of lead time for all orders.

We will be shipping again starting Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012.  There may be a backlog, but our tireless shipping crew (mostly Liz) will tear through that in a few days.  We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

This week: Extra lead time on shipping, and email us your tech questions!

Thanks to beauturner for the image!

Hello and welcome, MakerBotters new and old!  We hope that you’re using some days to complete ambitious MakerBotting projects before the end of the year, posting detailed updates to your Thingiverse pages along the way.

In light of this, there are a few things that you should know.  First, there will be an additional lead time of about a week on all orders due to an end-of-year physical inventory — orders placed this week will likely not ship out until January 3rd.  But once we can ship again, our amazing crew will clear out all the accrued orders.  Thank you for your patience.

Btw: everybody in the community owes a big thank-you to Eddie, Lindsay, Liz, and the whole production crew for pushing out all the holiday orders; everything we ship out passes through their hands, and it’s been a very busy season for them.   Three cheers for the shipping crew!

Next, our dedicated tech support crew will be taking a well-deserved day off today, 12/26, but we’ll be back tomorrow to answer all of your emails.  We do anticipate a lot of questions from new MakerBotters during this week, so please allow us a bit of extra time to answer your questions.

If you’re having trouble, make sure that you’ve carefully read through our documentation, especially the updated Thing-O-Matic build sequence and our brand-new Quick Start Guide.  If you’re still having issues you can’t resolve, send us an email at support@makerbot.com and we’ll help you work through any issues you’re experiencing.

Enjoy the last week of 2011!

Thing 14222 -- thanks jimcook for the photo!

We are getting right down to it here, people.  This is do or die time — when the men are separated from the boys.  This is where we winnow the wheat from the chaff, gift-giving-wise anyway.  It’s where the going gets tough, and the…yeah, well, anyway the point is there’s not much time left to order gifts.

If you want any amazing items from the MakerBot store to arrive by December 24th (or as I like to think of it, day 5 of Hanukkah) then the shipping schedule will be as seen below.

There are some great things in the store right now for your favorite makers, including MakerBot Projects like the Windup Walkers and Dynamo, as well as amazing prices on kits like the evergreen MintyBoost and LOLshield, and the epic Ostrich Egg Bot kit!

Final pre-Christmas ship dates:

Ground Shipping: Too Late!

3-day service: Too Late!

ReplicatorG 0029 Released

ReplicatorG 0029 is now available. This release is a minor update, with only one new feature, one click Print-O-Matic defaults. MakerBot operators indicated that they wanted a better and easier way to put Print-O-Matic settings back to the Defaults we recommend. So we added a ‘Defaults’ panel to Print-O-Matic for resetting to the Factory defaults for all of our Stepper based extruders. Since there are a lot of new Bot Operators during the Holiday season, we choose to roll this now to make it easier to tinker with their new bots.

If you are new to 3D printing, this is a really helpful set of buttons. New users can now test and experiment with Print-O-Matic settings to their hearts’ content, safe in the knowledge the factory defaults for Print-O-Matic are a button click away!
