Txchnologist, the online magazine from GE, has posted the first clip from an interview with Bre they did at our workshop. What better subject to start with than Project Shellter?

Watch the the video to hear Bre talk about the mission behind Project Shellter and why the MakerBot community is taking on the challenge. They also got some great shots of the crabitat at Shellter East and a shell being printed on the Thing-O-Matic!

MakerBots are the new rock stars! Rolling Stone paid a visit to our Brooklyn workshop for this profile that just ran on their Gear Up Tech blog. Check out the new video we created for those Rolling Stone readers who are new to the idea of MakerBotting. Bre created this How-To video covering the basics for any 3D-printer novice.

PRI talked to Bre about Project Shellter for the latest episode of their Living on Earth radio show. Listen here to get the scoop on what Project Shellter’s mission is, why hermit crabs are facing a housing crisis, and the challenges that come with the project (who knew hermit crabs were right handed?!).

MakerBot took New York Comic Con by storm last week! Amidst the costumed superheroes, anime characters, and vampires, stood the Thing-O-Matic — the only real robot at New York Comic Con!

See the action for yourself in the above clip from G4′s Attack of the Show. Jason Mewes (aka Jay of Jay and Silent Bob fame) stopped by the booth and talked to MakerBot’s Keith Ozar who showed off some our favorite printed objects.

Lots of awesome folks in costumes stopped by the booth (shared with the badass guys at MetalMachine), but these two dudes dressed as the Super Mario Bros. were out favorite. Of course they had to pose with the turtle shell racers…

We also got a nice shout out from the adafruit blog who said “It’s incredibly smart of MakerBot to have a booth at the Comic-Con, this type of out reach to comic community is how we’ll collectively add more makers to the DIY movement. The Street recently posted a story entitled “How 3-D Printing Changes Everything,” featuring an interview with MakerBot’s Bre Pettis.  Check it out!

MakerBot owner, John Biehler, explains the wonders of the  Thing-O-Matic on Get Connected, our new fave Canadian tech site! Check out the video to see John show off some cool things he’s printed including a money clip, Stephen Colbert’s head and even the Get Connected logo.

Here’s another awesome video for you to watch! BBC News has just featured Bre and Thingiverse in the latest edition of their Living Online series. The piece focuses on companies taking to the Internet to push innovation and Thingiverse is name checked as a prime outlet for creative collaboration. Consider this video a friendly reminder to design something new and share it on Thingiverse today!

MakerBot’s own Bre Pettis is the latest profile for Time.com’s Game Changer series. The crew from Time visited the MakerBot Workshop and the BotCave for a behind-the-scenes look at what we do here every day. The video also shows off some awesome objects we’ve printed recently including pliers, zaggo’s whistle, sconine’s  starfish, and the just-finished zoetrope project that artist Takeshi Murata is showing at London’s Frieze Art Fair.
