Posted by on Friday, June 27, 2014 in Uncategorized

Have you ever wanted to create your own 3D printable design? Now you don’t need any experience to design beautiful models for easy printing on your MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer.

Introducing MakerBot PrintShop, a fun, easy, and free tablet application for creating and 3D printing all kinds of cool things on MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers.

Download MakerBot PrintShop from the iTunes Store.

Design It, Customize It, Print It
For the first release of MakerBot PrintShop, we’ve created three tools for making fun, imaginative, and totally customizable 3D printable models:

Type Maker: The first type tool created specifically for 3D printing. Use it to make signs, letters, nameplates, and more.

Ring Maker: Print your own ring, custom-fitted for your finger. We have all kinds of ring designs on deck, from baseball caps, to coffee cups, to crowns.

Bracelet Maker: Use this tool to design elegant 3D printable bracelets featuring otherworldly abstract patterns.

Each of these intuitive design tools generates printable models that are optimized for MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers and print without supports. We’ll continue to add new tools to PrintShop, so be on the lookout for updates.

3D Model Hall Of Fame
Not in the mood to customize your own 3D printable model? Choose from a curated gallery of ready-to-print models instead. These educational, entertaining, and useful items from the MakerBot Thingiverse 3D Design Community are a great way to get familiar with 3D printing.

That’s Not All, Folks
If you want to save your designs to print later, PrintShop can store them in your personal MakerBot Cloud Library. PrintShop also gives you the ability to monitor your prints using your MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer’s onboard camera, as well as cancel prints or unload filament.

Hi! I had a group of students use the vase making feature of the printshop app. When I try to save the designs to the cloud library, it pops up with ” Failure trying to create a thing. (1001)

Can you help me figure out what’s wrong?
    Thank you! 🙂

Hi Karen – I apologize for that. Sometimes our server gets a little busy. When the 1001 error pops up, try creating and saving a Thing on It will hang on the saving screen. Let me know if you have any other questions. Our web team is currently working on fixing this issue.
