OH SNAP: Look Where MakerBot Is This Week
In May and June we went to Maker Faires in San Mateo and Kansas City and had a sweet time meeting MakerBot operators and people who make stuff. This month we’re broadening our horizons, and hopefully blowing some minds at the convention of the year:
Comic-Con International in San Diego. Woot!
This is a first for MakerBot, and we couldn’t be more pleased to spend the week with Toy Tokyo and Munky King, the baddest designer toy stores in New York and Los Angeles (respectively). We will be in both booths demo-ing The Replicator and introducing visitors to the power of a MakerBot.
(quick interlude from Wayne and Garth to express our feelings here)
…on toy design and MakerBot demonstrations. Ron English, the genius behind the MC Supersized mascot from the blockbuster documentary “Supersize Me” and the hugely popular Abraham Obama image, will even be presenting a custom toy design with MakerBot especially for Comic-Con 2012.
Just to briefly explain why we’re so excited about being at Comic-Con besides getting to hang out with the above mentioned companies and artists: this is a great chance to show a whole new world of people the joy of making your own toys, figurines, and costume elements.
We’re about to explode fan art into a third dimension, and we hope you’re going to join us. If you are a MakerBot owner in the house, come say hello so we can get to know you and hear what you’re working on.
Here’s a list of stuff that will be going on.
