For Your Next Trip To The Wax Museum

Free Art & Technology (okay…F.A.T.) suggests a new activity for your favorite wax museum: 123D Catch. If they’ll let you, get some shots of a few of your favorites and MakerBot some statuettes for your mantle. I think I’d make a Samuel L. Jackson of my very own, because I can, and because I can do it from the sidewalk on 42nd Street.

This is a pretty cool thought, too.

The best part about going to the wax museum is they often have celebrities both living and dead. Historical figures? No problem. I now have a 3D model of the entire last supper.

Think of the animation possibilities!

As a modeler I find this HILARIOUS!
Paint and canvas have been around for eons… yet we all are not painters.
Clay? Firing ovens… sculptors put your hands up?!?! ….

Hmm… looks like 3D modelers can be put into that class of “fine artist” while you all take 3D “Polaroids” of your salt shakers and desktop figurines that some other actual artist made for you to enjoy.

You say fired.. I say RATE increase. All this is going to do is flood the waves with crap models making our art…truly worth paying for.

    THANKS!

(also uses 123d products.. cause they are FUN!)

Good comment, Justin. You’re so right. Every 3D mesh that’s auto-generated from photos or video needs a lot of cleanup work and refinement. Rate increase indeed!
