The Cupcake CNC is totally sold out!

Exploded Unicorned Cupcake CNC

This is the end...

That’s right folks: this is the end of an era.  We have looked over the numbers, and it’s official: we’ve just sold the very last Cupcake CNC kits that we’ll ever be able to offer.

Though we’ve moved on to bigger and better things, the Cupcake was the kit that got it all started for us, and we’ll never forget that.  It’s also still a darn good little machine, so if you have an order that’s among the last, you’ve just gotten yourself a great deal on your first 3d printer.

This must be what it’s like to send your kids off to college…snif.  I told myself I wouldn’t cry…

Of course we still have lots of parts for servicing and upgrading your Cupcakes at the store, so don’t be a stranger!  Check in once in awhile!

Wow, i’m so glad i got the Cupcake for my wife. As soon as i saw that it was going to be discontinued, I had no choice but to jump on it.

I’m sure I’m not the only one asking, but is there a larger model in the works? if so, i want one!!!!!

You can also print out this Z axis extender kit for your Cupcake, like I did last week: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4716

The Zydac Z extender that Derek mentioned is the way to go for your Ultimate. It has more precise rods that keep the z axis straight. However, you will still need to use twotimes’s wobble arrestors because there is still some grinding.
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2151 , However, I don’t think you need to go with the additional rod guides and vertical clamps that go along with it. I don’t use it.

I have been lusting after one of these machines for the past two years. Because of the special i was able to get one for my fathers day gift this year. I am super excited to start contributing and taking part in the Makerbot community.

I am soooo glad I bought mine. I bought it a couple days ago and the next day it was off the site. I can not wait to get started. I only wish they had an affordable replacement. The thingomatic is awesome, but over a thousand dollars is pretty pricey. :o (

If you are going to print the wobble arrester, print this one instead, it’s easier.

Mine is a pain to print. (that one is a pain as well… just not as much of a pain:-)

Sigh. Sure was fun while it lasted. I hope replacement parts will stay in stock for a while.
