Sydney Opera House by Disrespective
Though we do have some famous buildings already, but this is certainly a nice addition to the bunch. This is without a doubt the most famous bit of 20th-century architecture available on Thingiverse — cheers Disrespective!
It does imply a bit of a challenge though…doesn’t make you want a printable Guggenheim Museum or Fallingwater house? Or perhaps Sagrada Familia (heck, we can even print a completed one!)
It’s great to see additions to Thingiverse’s architectural library. Keep ‘em coming!

After I completed the Opera House model I started work on a NY Guggenheim and a Sagrada Familia model too. I looked at some of Calatravas works but thought them too tricky to print without support material so will leave them for a more complex print. I really want these to be one piece prints if I can.

I’ve been working on models of some of buildings my Grandfather (and G-Grandfather) designed. Saw this post and figured it was time to upload the first of them. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8233 is the Metlife (originally Panam) building. Enjoy!

Had the privilege of working on the Sagrada Familia early last year. Was very interested to find they are using 3d printers and 5-axis routers to speed up the building process. A single block used to take up to 6 months to get in place, now it takes a week or so.
There is actually one complete model that’s called the ‘official’ one, even though it was cast in the 50′s, but its brass and didn’t scan well at all. Pity, I would love to build a copy of it, but then of course its all proprietary so couldn’t anyway.
