Doorknobs? I think I need some new ideas for things to make with a MakerBot. What are your best examples that you say when people ask you what you can make with a MakerBot?

The bottle opener… yes, the bottle opener…

Bag clips are also nice handouts… They only cost a few pennies and print within 10 minutes. Whistles are also great examples, and in fact I always use that as a benchmark for print quality.

And treasure chests are great examples of how a Makerbot can print a hinged piece already put together.

another 3d printer. that has had the most impact in terms of reactions of people when i tell them what this can potentially do (not exactly a handout though). it generally takes a bit of explaining for it to really set in. self replicating robots. pretty amazing futuristic stuff that most people never even thought that they would see in a lifetime..

Michael Rule uploaded this recently: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5822 , which is pretty high on my Useful Things list. Related: I think there are a number of arduino(ish) enclosure type Things around too.

This might make for a good blog series, if somebody had some microcontroller projects that needed housings/mountings.
