While it’s interesting to hear about developments like this, I think (as an interested party) I’d be more appreciative of updates on when the thing-o-matic is expected to ship. Having sold my cupcake to fund the thing-o-matic, I’m going through withdrawal …

Your Thing-o-Matic will ship 7 weeks from the date you ordered it, as stated on our website.

Cool – I guess it shipped yesterday then. Since I paid for next-day air, I guess it’ll be waiting for me when I get home :) :)

The online site says it’s still “in production” however, and the recent comments about having supplier issues didn’t exactly fill me with optimism. I realise sometimes all you can say is “we’re waiting on our supplier”, but when a customer hears nothing for a while, that customer is liable to start getting antsy about it. At least I am – perhaps I’m over-generalising :)

Good to hear it’ll be waiting for me at home. I guess I was expecting an email or something when it shipped, but all will be forgiven when I get home and see it :)

    Cheers
    Simon

But 7 weeks from the announcement where in mid November, so claiming a definite 7 week lead time doesn’t hold up. The delay was supposed to be dependent of motors being held up in customs due to bombthreats, however documentation of the machine are not ready yet, so even if the kits would’ve shipped on time, you would have to guess on how to put them together. I’m also waiting for mine to ship, ordered on day one, merely hours after it appeared in the shop. As I live in Sweden, there isn’t much hope of playing with it this year considering transit time, customs etc…
