NYC MakerBot Meetup – Tonight!

Update: Just a reminder that this meetup is tonight!

Hey MakerBot Operators in NYC!

We’re thinking about the future of MakerBot and the kind of machines that we’ll be producing in the future and we’re inviting some folks to swing by tomorrow night and hang out at the Botcave and let us know what you think.

So we’re going to have an open office tomorrow, Wednesday September 8th from 7:30-9PM. We’d really like it if you can swing by and give us some feedback about what you’d like to see in the future of 3D printers from MakerBot.

If that sounds like fun, RSVP on eventbrite for this free event and swing by the Botcave at 87 3rd Ave Brooklyn NY 11217 and let us know!

Can’t make it? Let us know what you think here in the comments or drop us a note at [email protected] with your vision of what the MakerBot of the future will be like!

Makerbot the real COOL company!!! — it’s the contrary of RepRap.

I would like to discuss the future for RepRap and find a roadmap and so I started a forum message which you may care to read, with title “RepRap sucks — it’s the worst of all 3D printers”:

Considering you have sold machines all over the world, having a “meeting” with 1 days notice at your botcave will not be much more than the folks that you always hear from.

    May I make a suggestion?

1 weeks notice, and hold the meeting on IRC. That way you get a more diverse range of feedback.

You could even have it as a 6pm-7pm open to all 7pm-8pm in a invitation only meeting. Does not matter.

As far as MY opinion, I think you have done well, Makerbot has became the defeacto “brand name” of RepStraps. The 1st 18 months you have done very well, but I have a feeling in the next 18 you are going to have REAL completion in the Market. I don’t know how you address Botmill, Up!, BFB (if they EVER learn what the word “marketing” is), or some unknown that is waiting in the woodwork, but I have faith that with the power of Bre’s hair, you can do anything.
