ReplicatorG 0016 available

Hooray, pretty pictures!
ReplicatorG 0016 is now available for your downloading, installing, and printing pleasure. There are just two small changes this time around: the control panel has been reorganized to be more useful for those using netbooks and other devices with small displays, and we’ve added a graphical temperature vs. time display to the extruder control panel. This should be a big help to those who are trying to tweak their extruder parameters to get things just right.
Download it from the usual place, and let us know how it goes!

No more jog buttons?
Dave
…and yay indeed for the pictures! That looks pretty cool, Adam.
(while cursing the lack of an Edit button here)
Adam
The jog buttons are still there! They’re to the left of the extruder controls.

Excellent!
Is there an “Export CSV” button for the temperature data over time results?
Andrew
…or even better, a “Log to File” option to implicitly capture results over the full session?

Does this release (including graphs) work well with the older makerbot firmwares (1.6 mobo / 1.8 extruder)?

hey adam,
any luck with the communication issues that seem to be in the 2.x firmware? i’m still at the 1.6 motherboard / 1.8 extruder firmware, and anything above just gives lots of packet errors. (the errors seem a little frightening, because sometimes as a result of communication errors certain things would keep running, while others wouldn’t, potentially causing (for example) the extuder motor running while the heater was accidentally toggled off).
i’d love to use the new firmware, and the software is really shaping up, but the communication issues seem really critical.
also, i’d love it if the SD card could have directories (and potentially long file names), but that’s just a wishlist item.
thanks for all your hard work!

The graphing should work with the older firmware versions as well.
There’s no new firmware release this time. I’m going to try a hack sometime next week to see if I can work around the comms problems that some boards are having.
