A year ago we started making the first MakerBot prototype. It didn’t work, but isn’t it cute?

    Beautiful! Why didn’t it work? Rod-Drive all over looks like an interesting project for 3-axis CNC!

    So it was just too slow for practical extrusion, then? I’m looking at Rod drive for another project. I’d love to know more about your results with an XY rod-driven setup.

    It’s so cool to think that this time last year Makerbot didn’t even exist like it does today.
