MakerBot Internships Available
Yesterday, we introduced Will, the MakerBot intern. We’re steping up operations and are on the lookout for more interns!
Here at MakerBot, we’re on the lookout for a few interns who are interested in design, engineering, and the internet to work with to produce and develop awesome open source hardware. Some of the projects we have coming up are alternate extruders, 3D scanners, and a conveyor belt build platform.
The ideal candidate will have some experience some or all of the following: digital design, blogging, and general prototyping. Work will vary and include building kits, design work, production, and running a laser-cutter.
Send us a note if you’re interested!

You’re going to do a 3D scanner too (wtf)? How awesome is that?! I can imagine it would be the perfect mate for a 3D printer. I mean you can scan parts to simply clone them afterwards or you scan them and remix them in blender and so on. Guess it could give thingiverse a certain boost.
How far down the road is this development by now? Any development wikis or blogs to check out?
Keep up the good work!

Yup if you go to wiki.makerbot.com and look in the sidebar, we’ve got a research page set up.
I’m hoping to have a scanfest this summer to get some folks together and do a prototype!

I’ve been around NYCR and I would love to be an intern! a year and a half ago, when I was first introduced to the Arduino I tried to make my own Dremel CNC. It was a very rough attempt, but a great learning experience.

Get me out of here! I’m from the mid west and the density of people with similar interests out here is abysmal. I’m fresh out of college, with a host of ideas in my head and a healthy number of notches on my geek belt. Help me avoid the corporate rat race a little while longer and let me get my feet soaking wet in rapid prototyping goodness.

I’d LOVE to intern at Makerbot.. too bad I’m on the wrong coast. I’m so jealous of Will it’s not even funny.

I’m REALLY interested in being an intern at MakerBot. I just completed my first year at Georgia Tech as a mechanical engineering major, and I’m also an artist. MakerBots combine my two greatest passions; Art, and Robotics!!!
Please let me know how I can get in better contact with you guys, I would love to hear from you.
